The idea also appeals to those who are interested in saving energy as LED consumes less energy and is more environmentally friendly than fluorescent bulbs.

You have to admit that this idea besides looking coolr it would also eliminate the need for bright lights in places that are not used as frequently. To bad that for now this design is just a concept, but I feel that in the near future we will see it implemented somewhere.
