A reversed concept of design, an inverse process, backwards, in which the final object is a means, an instrument: the object serves merely as a vehicle for light to create the shadow. This is the starting point of the design of a series of fireshields by gspot.
The fire screens embody the present skylines of London and Rome, evoking through their shadows the Great Fires that signed their history, respectively in 1666 and 64 AD. Made of cor-ten steel plate, meticulously laser-cut. The process of oxidizing brings alive this material, which behaves like fire, dynamic, transmutable and unpredictable. A sort of multiple piece of art that sums formal seriality with aestethic uniqueness. Alternatively, the fire screen is created in haematite (black steel) plate, possessing the attribute of projecting shadow, even when the fire is extinguished or the light source removed; running on its shadow.

Expanding TV Screen

You can now watch your favorite TV shows at the image quality you’ve always dreamed of. Adjust the unit for getting the proper dimensions. After that, all you have to do is sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.

We all dream about that huge TV screen that would take over our room and give us the perfect cinema-like experience. But too bad that idea usually conflicts with the lack of space. Here’s an ingenious solution for this problem: the TV wall unit from Acerbis. Make your living room a home cinema by simply adding this flexible unit with a concealed projector screen inside.

Multi-functional Bathroom Accessories

Arc Basin Mixer & Mirror Storage by David Goss is an interesting idea that combines three functions into one simple, discreet unit. This multi-functional bathroom accessory that besides providing with water to help you wash your hands lets you store your stuff.
A wide (but controlled) plane of water emerges, momentarily extending the arc beyond its metallic form. The mirror pivots along one edge to reveal a concealed storage cabinet. Arc strikes a balance between form and function, highlighting both the preciousness and scarcity of this rich resource, and highlighting the elemental beauty inherent in cascading water. For now this idea is just a concept, but I have to admit that it looks pretty amazing don’t you think

Light Up Your House Stairway

Stair Lights is a low voltage (and this implies a low cost) LED system that will allow you to light up your stairs with or without a switch. The lights open up automatically when you are near the stairs, but they can also be controlled. There is also a generator connected to the system, so in case of a black out the stairs will still emit light for another 12 hours.

Each stair is illuminated by a three beam spotlight and all the wires are intelligently hidden. If you want to purchase the kit, it will cost you $140. However the kit only includes four sets of light so you will have to add $34.95 for every step starting with the fifth one. The overall cost will be quite high, but you might consider only adding light at every other step for example.

Cool LED Staircase Handrail Concept Design

Here is an interesting idea that can help you physically and visually perceive your way through dark passages and corridors and it was designed by Zoran Sunjic from Croatia. The idea also appeals to those who are interested in saving energy as LED consumes less energy and is more environmentally friendly than fluorescent bulbs.

You have to admit that this idea besides looking coolr it would also eliminate the need for bright lights in places that are not used as frequently. To bad that for now this design is just a concept, but I feel that in the near future we will see it implemented somewhere.

GRO Design’s Bi-Axis Fridge for Samsung is a chic refrigerator that can be distorted from the customary vertical orientation to a horizontal sideboard, failing all conventional theories that say a refrigerator should be standing. Designed to speak up for a change, the contemporary approach makes the new fridge as the center piece in everyone’s kitchen.

Macrolux LED Poles - No Limits To Adjusting the Lighting in Your Home

There always seems to be something tricky about adjusting lights in your apartment. First off, the angle: where should the lamps or light bulbs be placed so that the lighting could be perfect? But let’s say it will eventually feel that you got it right and that the source of light is where it should be.
Even then there’ is bound to be at least one problem or one spot where you would like more or less intensity. This is what the German designers at Hansandfranz had in mind when coming up with the concept for these amazing Macrolux LED poles. Forget about all those awkward angles of light and enjoy the flexibility that this design has to offer. Extensible and telescopic, the poles occupy little space and can be used to improve the overall look of your apartment, not to mention the creating of that lighting that you’ve craved for. There is no information on the price yet, but we expect this beauty on the market very soon.

Asian Creativity at Its Best: The SongMax Clothing Store for Women

Using the colors black, white and red, the designers from Elevation Workshop managed to bring elegance and style to this project. However, these were otherwise necessary factors, being given the targeted audience. We found out that the store has not been yet opened to the public, which explains why no pictures with clothes are available. The opening will occur soon. We only hope that the clothes sold there will live up to the building’s fantastic design.

The SongMax Clothing store is an amazing design project that comes from a Chinese company called Elevation Workshop (ELEV). The founders say that ELEV is “positioned at the crossroads of art and architecture”. We here at Freshome believe that The SongMax clothing store is a perfect combination between the two, a great idea for a unique commercial interior. The brand that the store serves targets business women with strong carriers. Naturally, these types of women want to stand out. The idea here was to make it so that the clients of this fancy clothing store could feel in the center of attention. The floor is lifted in the air similar to a stage and the “L”-shaped lines within the store give it a feeling of space or endless roads.
