Fire Screens Design that Present the Skylines of London and Rome

Modern Fire Screens Design
Modern Fire Screens Design
A reversed concept of design, an inverse process, backwards, in which the final object is a means, an instrument: the object serves merely as a vehicle for light to create the shadow. This is the starting point of the design of a series of fireshields by gspot.

Modern Fire Screens Design
The fire screens embody the present skylines of London and Rome, evoking through their shadows the Great Fires that signed their history, respectively in 1666 and 64 AD. Made of cor-ten steel plate, meticulously laser-cut. The process of oxidizing brings alive this material, which behaves like fire, dynamic, transmutable and unpredictable. A sort of multiple piece of art that sums formal seriality with aestethic uniqueness. Alternatively, the fire screen is created in haematite (black steel) plate, possessing the attribute of projecting shadow, even when the fire is extinguished or the light source removed; running on its shadow.

Rechargeable Portable Fridges
This fantastic design comes from Stefan Ulrich and is in fact an out-of-the-box idea on reducing the energy used by your household. The designer explains that a normal fridge consumes over 21% of the total energy in an apartment, which is an impressive figure. “Neff” comes with a new approach.

These small fridges can be connected to a power supply, get fully charged and the cool off your food for hours to come without consuming anymore energy. Also, if you happen to have small quantities of food or groceries, it is not necessary to power-up all the cooling cases, but just one or two. This would not be possible with a normal fridge. Portability is also a strong feature. You can just place the items anywhere you like, without worrying about occupying a lot of space. And just look at their amazing shape!

Amazing Water Recycling System in Your Own Shower
Amazing Water Recycling System in Your Own Shower
Recycling is a great concept with even greater effects. The fact that designers everywhere seem to grow an interest in the field is a wonderful thing. This revolutionary concept proves that with hard work and experience, amazing recycling products can become available worldwide. Jun Yasumoto, Vincent Vandenbrouk, Olivier Pigasse, and Alban Le Henry created this sustainable shower that can filter the water that you use while showering and make it drinkable again.

This is possible due to some special plants that “feed of” substances like those that exist in soap and shampoo. Here are some more words from the designers: “Using a natural filtering principle called phyto-purification, the bathroom becomes a mini-eco-system by recycling and regenerating the waste water. With this project, we tried to combine the pleasure of taking a shower with the satisfaction of recycling water. We wanted the recycling process to actually interact with the use of shower.”
