Fire Screens Design that Present the Skylines of London and Rome
A reversed concept of design, an inverse process, backwards, in which the final object is a means, an instrument: the object serves merely as a vehicle for light to create the shadow. This is the starting point of the design of a series of fireshields by gspot.
The fire screens embody the present skylines of London and Rome, evoking through their shadows the Great Fires that signed their history, respectively in 1666 and 64 AD. Made of cor-ten steel plate, meticulously laser-cut. The process of oxidizing brings alive this material, which behaves like fire, dynamic, transmutable and unpredictable. A sort of multiple piece of art that sums formal seriality with aestethic uniqueness. Alternatively, the fire screen is created in haematite (black steel) plate, possessing the attribute of projecting shadow, even when the fire is extinguished or the light source removed; running on its shadow.

Rechargeable Portable Fridges : Neff
This fantastic design comes from Stefan Ulrich and is in fact an out-of-the-box idea on reducing the energy used by your household. The designer explains that a normal fridge consumes over 21% of the total energy in an apartment, which is an impressive figure. “Neff” comes with a new approach.
These small fridges can be connected to a power supply, get fully charged and the cool off your food for hours to come without consuming anymore energy. Also, if you happen to have small quantities of food or groceries, it is not necessary to power-up all the cooling cases, but just one or two. This would not be possible with a normal fridge. Portability is also a strong feature. You can just place the items anywhere you like, without worrying about occupying a lot of space. And just look at their amazing shape!

A Fireplace, A Stove and A Shelving System in Living Room
We are seeing more and more designs lately that bring together one or more home appliances in order to make the life of users an easier one. Because sometimes a single object doing the job of three others could be a lot more practical, occupy less space and even reduce costs.
Vulcan belongs to designer Arthur Senant and is a complex item with more than one functions. First of all, it is a modern fireplace with plenty of storage space for wood and other instruments you will need to start the fire. A system of shelves is connected to this main focal point which enables the possibility of placing all sort of living room objects above the unusual fireplace. Here is where you can come in contact with the designer for further inquiries regarding this creative combo.
Amazing Water Recycling System in Your Own Shower
Recycling is a great concept with even greater effects. The fact that designers everywhere seem to grow an interest in the field is a wonderful thing. This revolutionary concept proves that with hard work and experience, amazing recycling products can become available worldwide. Jun Yasumoto, Vincent Vandenbrouk, Olivier Pigasse, and Alban Le Henry created this sustainable shower that can filter the water that you use while showering and make it drinkable again.
This is possible due to some special plants that “feed of” substances like those that exist in soap and shampoo. Here are some more words from the designers: “Using a natural filtering principle called phyto-purification, the bathroom becomes a mini-eco-system by recycling and regenerating the waste water. With this project, we tried to combine the pleasure of taking a shower with the satisfaction of recycling water. We wanted the recycling process to actually interact with the use of shower.”

House of Shades and No Windows : “Slit” from Eastern Design Office
EASTERN Design Office is a company of architects located in Kyoto, Japan. The “Slit” house is made entirely out of walls which implies this building has no windows. The light only gets in through slits which turns this project into a very original one.
Still, the concrete walls don’t really make this the warmest and inviting place to live in. But this is just the exterior, perhaps a welcoming interior could counterattack the “hostility” this place initially inspires. All in all, the architecture is truly impressive and so are the shades that the light forms in the house.

Modern Design Office Building
From J. Mayer H., a team of talented architects from Berlin, comes this lofty office building located in Hamburg, Germany, currently dominating the part of the city where it is placed. The first thing that strikes you is its original exterior design, with unusual windows and doors.
The park around the building seems to follow the “oval” theme of the structure. The pictures display a simple, white and elegant interior design which is about to get crowdy once the workers will fill the place, no doubt. Just to have an idea about the size of the project, it was spread on a surface of 5,436 sqm.

Blue Solar Tiles Modern Roof House
This project is called Solé Power Tile, it is actually a reinvention of the solar panels as we know them and comes with an upgrade: great and modern look. There is also a high functional feature that comes with the system which is that if a tile is broken, the others will continue to work independently.
Solar panels are no longer a thing of the future, but are slowly starting to be accepted and used by the population worldwide. People begun to understand their utility and despite their high prices, the need for alternative energy sources that in time will prove worthy of the initial investment.

Expanding TV Screen
You can now watch your favorite TV shows at the image quality you’ve always dreamed of. Adjust the unit for getting the proper dimensions. After that, all you have to do is sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.
We all dream about that huge TV screen that would take over our room and give us the perfect cinema-like experience. But too bad that idea usually conflicts with the lack of space. Here’s an ingenious solution for this problem: the TV wall unit from Acerbis. Make your living room a home cinema by simply adding this flexible unit with a concealed projector screen inside.

Multi-functional Bathroom Accessories
Arc Basin Mixer & Mirror Storage by David Goss is an interesting idea that combines three functions into one simple, discreet unit. This multi-functional bathroom accessory that besides providing with water to help you wash your hands lets you store your stuff.
A wide (but controlled) plane of water emerges, momentarily extending the arc beyond its metallic form. The mirror pivots along one edge to reveal a concealed storage cabinet. Arc strikes a balance between form and function, highlighting both the preciousness and scarcity of this rich resource, and highlighting the elemental beauty inherent in cascading water. For now this idea is just a concept, but I have to admit that it looks pretty amazing don’t you think
